Tim’s mellifluous tones sweeping over us

What a wonderful way to spend a summer evening, listening to pianist Tim Horton at the Cavendish Hall in Edensor. As the breeze from the open doors cooled us in the hall, Tim conjured pictures in our imagination with his rendition of preludes by Debussy and Chopin. From the fascinating compositions in which the number of each piece is connected by an ellipsis to a word or phrase placed at the end of each piece in Debussy’s Preludes Book 2 to the haunting melody of Chopin’s Sostenuto,

our senses were rewarded by Tim’s mellifluous tones sweeping over us in the lovely setting at Chatsworth.

Each of us will have entered our own world with different interpretations of the music, but whatever it conjured for each person you can be sure it left them feeling uplifted and smiling.
